On April 1, 2009, New Zealand received the first localized Comedy Central channel outside of North America and Europe (Comedy Central New Zealand). The channel started broadcasting in Israel (Comedy Central Israel) in 2011.

Charlie Sheen says he’s looking forward to ‘The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen’, but expects the comedians to go beyond the obvious.His roast is just over a month away, but former Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen​ seems to know exactly what he’s in for with The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen.According to an interview Sheen gave to Entertainment Tonight, it’s all part of who he is in the media. According to Sheen, “It’s not like you can take any of it personally.” The only question is: with a guy like Sheen, how do jokes touching on his professional life not bleed into the personal?
While ripe for the plucking, it would be hard to believe that the roast would focus solely on the fact that Ashton Kutcher has already moved into his Two And A Half Men pad, and his former boss, Chuck Lorrie, considers the idea of gruesomely killing off Sheen’s former character Charlie Harper to be appropriate for a situational comedy.Perhaps there’s been some ground rules set for host Seth MacFarlane and the rest of the as-yet-uncertain lineup, but Sheen says he’s challenging them to go deeper than the obvious.“I’m actually looking forward to how creative they can get. Nothing will be off limits, he adds. It’s not going to be like, “They insulted me!’ Get over your cheap self. … It’s a celebration of who I am …as a media figure, an industry figure, stuff like that, so that’s the veneer that keeps it from being personal.
”In addition to his claims of tiger blood and being a warlock, Sheen took to the road for the ill-fated Torpedo of Truth tour. In addition to poor reviews and ticket sales, Sheen was reportedly heckled frequently, suffered walkouts and even left the stage a few times himself.Most recently Sheen was booed again, then pelted with garbage, while on stage at the annual Gathering of the Juggalos. The incident mirrors the Juggalos’ response to reality television star Tila Tequila last year, so the jeers and refuse pelting seems to come with the territory – either that or Sheen refused to divulge how magnets work.Although his live performances haven’t been the strongest showing of his career, Sheen is keeping busy after his roast. The actor will be shopping around the television version of the 2003 Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler comedy Anger Management.According to Sheen, he’s ready to get back to work. “I’ve got my work brain back in my head. Welcome back work brain, I missed you.”As for the aftermath of the roast, Sheen says, “I don’t see myself getting into a fist fight or never speaking to someone afterwards. But I’m curious to how deep they’re all going to go. But I do get the last word, right?”
